Buy oversold and sell overbought assets using Relative Strength Index boundaries.
Selected (1): ADANIENT
The RSI Mean Reversion Strategy is an algorithmic trading model predicated on the statistical tendency of asset prices to revert toward their historical moving average equilibrium following overextended price expansion.
Buy signal triggers when the RSI indicator crosses above the oversold boundary from extreme lows, indicating that capitulation selling has subsided and institutional buyers are stepping in.
Position liquidation occurs when the RSI expands into the overbought zone (≥ 70), or when the predetermined Stop-Loss percentage or Take-Profit target is triggered.
Mean-reverting equities can occasionally transition into aggressive trending breakouts. Strict Stop-Loss percentage limits (e.g. 2.0%) prevent capital drawdown during protracted momentum regimes.
RSI measures internal momentum velocity on a standardized 0 to 100 scale by calculating the ratio of average exponential gains over average losses across a lookback window (default 14 periods). When the oscillator drops below the oversold threshold (≤ 30), selling exhaustion suggests a statistically favorable risk-reward entry window.

| Parameter Name | Standard Default | Allowed Range | Performance Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|
| RSI Period | 14 | 2 - 50 | Lower values (e.g. 7) increase signal sensitivity; higher values (e.g. 21) filter noise. |
| Oversold Threshold | 30 | 10 - 40 | Lower thresholds (e.g. 20) require deeper capitulation dips for higher win-rate entries. |
| Overbought Threshold | 70 | 60 - 90 | Higher levels permit winners to run further before triggering systematic profit capture. |
| Stop Loss (%) | 2.0% | 0.5% - 5.0% | Restricts adverse excursions when a trending market invalidates the mean-reversion thesis. |
| Take Profit (%) | 6.0% | 1.0% - 15.0% | Locks in gains at precalculated risk-to-reward multiples (e.g. 1:3 ratio). |
