Simulate crossovers of Fast and Slow Exponential Moving Averages.
Selected (1): ADANIENT
The Exponential Moving Average (EMA) Crossover Strategy is a flagship trend-following quantitative system that captures multi-day directional momentum by detecting when shorter-term price velocity overtakes longer-term baseline trends.
Golden Cross trigger: Fast EMA crosses strictly above the Slow EMA with close confirmation.
Death Cross trigger: Fast EMA crosses below the Slow EMA, or the trade reaches either the Take-Profit objective or Stop-Loss threshold.
Moving average crossovers can suffer whipsaw losses during tight consolidation ranges. Combining position limits with trailing stop-loss protection safeguards capital.
Unlike Simple Moving Averages (SMAs) which weigh all historical bars equally, EMAs apply exponential multiplier weights to recent bars. When a responsive Fast EMA crosses above a smoother Slow EMA, it indicates shifting order flow and institutional accumulation.

| Parameter Name | Standard Default | Allowed Range | Performance Sensitivity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fast EMA Period | 10 | 3 - 50 | Governs how rapidly the entry trigger reacts to recent price inflection points. |
| Slow EMA Period | 50 | 20 - 200 | Defines the macro trend filter. Higher lookbacks reduce whipsaws in choppy markets. |
| Stop Loss (%) | 2.0% | 0.5% - 5.0% | Cuts losses quickly if the moving average crossover turns out to be a false breakout. |
| Take Profit (%) | 6.0% | 1.0% - 20.0% | Locks in systematic profit targets during parabolic trend extensions. |
